On Friday, we posted a list of events for the weekend, but found out about one of the most interesting one after we were finished; canoe jousting in Snow Hill, Maryland. So armed with the video camera and a hope to sneak my way on to a team, I headed out to Snow Hill.
When I arrived, I found almost exactly what I expected: a bunch of upstanding citizens hootin' and hollerin' toward the river while contestants duked it out over bragging rights.
The event not only boasted one of the most brilliant sporting events I have stumbled upon in years, but also food and drinks (for a minimal fee) to keep you energized to support of you favorite team.
Thanks to the Volunteer Fire Department, the brave combatants and the OUTSTANDING weather, my Saturday afternoon was filled with riveting jousting and great fun, although I never found my way on to a team. I guess there's always next year!
