Two Coasts, One Community, One Cause

Can you believe the Gulf Oil Spill has been carrying on for almost 3 months now?! As this crisis wears on into its 86th day, concern for wildlife sanctuaries in towns that line the Gulf Coast greatens as more and more wildlife dies or suffers from the millions of gallons of oil being dumped on these fragile landscapes.

The Delaware Center for the Inland Bays teamed up with Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary Program to organize a fundraiser on Dewey Beach to aid in relief efforts in Louisiana from the devastating oil spill which has threatened the lives and destroyed the habitats of numerous species of wildlife.

Their goal was to raise $100,000 and by the time we were about to leave, they had already raised $70,000 from organizations, local businesses, and people of Dewey Beach and neighboring communities.
